66% of people feel overwhelmed on a day-to-day basis.
It can often feel like you’re to do list is the size of the bible, you’re the only person responsible for getting something done or that you feel you’ve got to be there for others, or take on their troubles too.
In this video, I’ll be sharing a solid technique to help ease that overwhelm in your life and show you that it’s not all down to you to make things happen.
Be sure to grab yourself a piece of paper, a notebook or a journal where you can write out 3 columns for each step of this exercise.
- In column 1 write out everything that is swirling around in your head, the things you’ve got to get done or what’s got to happen.
- In the second column, next to each item write out who is responsible for this task – is it you? Is it someone else and you’re contributing to it? Is it nothing to do with you, but you’re concerned what the outcome might be? Whatever it is, write it out.
- Finally, in the third column make a note of the frequency of this item for the things that are just for you or that you’re contributing to. Is it a one-off or do you need to get this done by the end of the week / month?
This exercise in itself is great at helping you to take the pressure off. You’ll start to see a trend too of the items that aren’t yours to deal with, which will help you to fully concentrate on what you do have to do.
Once you’ve watched this, I’d love to hear from you. How has this helped in your life? What will you be able to do differently moving forward?
